Re-grade a quiz

Regrading reviews the quiz results for all attempts for all students. It is not a way of correcting the grade for an individual student - that must be done by reviewing a particular student attempt.

Why would I re-grade a quiz?

Scenarios

Scenario 1

When a question has an incorrect # of marks assigned to it in the quiz.

Solution 1

  1. Open the quiz and go to the Results area.
  2. Edit the quiz.
  3. Alter the number of marks for the question.
  4. Alter the total marks for the quiz.
  5. Save changes.
  6. Select Results then Regrade.

Scenario 2

When a question needs to be removed from the quiz (because it maybe unclear or has an incorrect answer, etc.).

Solution 2

  1. Open the quiz and go to the Results area.
  2. Edit the quiz.
  3. Alter the number of marks for the question to zero.
  4. Alter the total marks for the quiz.
  5. Save changes.
  6. Select Results then Regrade.

Scenario 3

For quizzes with more than one attempt, if you decide to alter how the final grade for the quiz is calculated OR you want to change the penalty setting that applies to incorrect answers in a quiz.

Solution 3

  1. Open the quiz and select Update this quiz.
  2. Change the Grades settings
  3. Save changes.
  4. Select Results then Regrade.
