Hiding assignments while you grade them

You may want to hide assignment grades from students until you have completed grading all:

  • click on cog/wheel icon on you course homepage and select Gradebook setup
  • Click the edit link for the assignment you are grading and select Hide

  • Hidden assignments appear greyed out. When you have completed marking, return to the Gradebook setup, click the edit link and choose Show. The title will return to its normal state
  • Note: the option to notify students when comments or grades are given is on by default. When an assignment is hidden, notifications are delayed until the instructor makes the assignment visible again

What students see:

  • User report: While the assignment is hidden, students will see it greyed out and no grades will be visible

  • Assignment view: The feedback section will be hidden from students until the Assignment is returned to its visible state
